Blizzard of 2013

So the weather people are predicting a blizzard for the State of Connecticut. We weren't too sure this weather prediction was going to be accurate or not, since the weather people have been known to get their predictions wrong on numerous occasions :/ But I am so glad we got went out and stocked up on food and gassed up the cars because the weather people were so right this time!! It started snowing about 8:00 in the morning. Jerry went and got my Mom around 10:00. We were afraid she was going to lose power and we wouldn't be able to get to her if she did. With the amounts of snow they were predicting, it was safer for her to stay with us then be on her own. The snow continued all day, and into the night. The winds really started to pick up as it got dark and we had about 6 inches of snow by 4:00 p.m. Didn't seem like it was going to be as bad as they were saying. I mean, it had been snowing 'all' day and we didn't have nearly enough snow to make up a blizzard. So we went to bed under false pretenses!! Because over night, the snow came fast and furious. They were saying we were getting 3 to 4 inches an hour!!

The snow is just starting and this little guy seems to be the only one who is excited about the upcoming blizzard. So glad I thought to fill the bird feeders the day before!

While I was doing the deck and back sidewalk. Thought we could get a head start on the shoveling, so very wrong :( But we did give it a try!!

Around 10:00 p.m. and they were saying the blizzard wasn't even here yet!

The snow is starting to come down heavier. And the winds were really howling now!!
