After doing some investigating, into out what this was all about, I bought us 2 seats at a table up near the stage. (We were known in the Meadows Field as 'The Table People'. *LoL* I thought that was cute) The website said you can bring your own liquor, beverages and food. We still weren't sure how this worked so I called their 'ticket service' and the woman was so nice and patient with me. She told me that there were some vendors there that you could buy hotdogs and hamburgers from. Or you could call ahead to have your food catered if you didn't care to bring your own. I had never heard of this before. And even though I would have liked to pack our own food, we were running out of time since I started looking into to this so late. So I went on the site that caters the tables, Metro Bis and got Jerry a Roastbeef Wrap and I had a Turkey Wrap. They both came with a pasta salad, brownie and water. There was a big brown bag on our table when we got here with our food in it and a balloon tied to the bag. The food was very good and Jerry bought me a coffee when we got done eating. Next time I would like to bring our own food though. The tables sat 8 and the 4 other people we sat with were very, very nice. The Hartford Symphony Orchestra came on at 7:30. They were lead by Bradley Thachuk, the conductor. And accompanied by John Regan who played the piano and sang. Along with Jean Meilleur, who sang the lead in most of the songs. They all did a really nice job and we had a very nice time. The weather was gorgeous last night too. People brought the strangest things to this event. There were elaborate candles on the tables or center pieces people had brought. All kind of food. And some people were even doing crafts at their table while listening to the music until it got too dark. I am so glad I found out about this. And will have to keep an eye on when they will have this again so we can go. But the next time, we will be more prepared!!
There were soooooooo many people there!!
People still coming in!
