Old Sturbridge Village

Last Saturday, Jerry and I took a ride to Old Sturbridge Village in Sturbridge, Massachusetts. We haven't been there since the girls were little. What a nice time we had. The day was gorgeous and we ended up walking the village for 4 hours! The people there dressed as they did in the 1800's and explained to us how things would have been for the people living at that time. It sure made you stop and think. The land was beautiful and everyone there took such pride in what they did. Even if it was to make a 'rock'. It was done right and with such dedication and love. Made me think how much we are really missing in our lives with such a fast paced society. We do not stop to look at the beauty all around us (rather then just take it for granted). It was really nice to have a day with such nice people in such a nice surrounding. With no, cell phones, computers internet or any other modern conviences. I hope Jerry and I can get back there again real soon. Here are a couple pictures I took. I can't show them all since I took 91 pictures and would have taken more but my battery died in my camera :-)
If you'd like to learn more about Old Sturbridge Village you can visit their website 'HERE'

Jerry welcoming you to the village *lol*

The church where they would hold services somedays for up to 2 hours or more!! Men and women were 'not' allowed to sit together in church.

The carpenter.

The Commons House, which was the largest house in the village.

The kitchen, inside the Common House.

Breathtaking scenery all around us.
